Trying to Understand

Can you just lay it all out on the table for me?

Peel back the sides of your skull to reveal your brain?

Take it apart like puzzle pieces?

Just so I can understand?

I mean, I’ve been doing head stands trying to understand.

Feet up in the air, eyes all askew

Just trying to understand what is going on in there.

But I still can’t see it.

I still don’t understand.

So can you just peel back the sides of your skull?

Because I’m not understanding.

And I so desperately, desperately want to.
