I’ve never met a Prince Charming.

I’ve seen tons of fakes

Broken reflections

That I‘ve taken for the real deal.

Frogs and toads

Pretending to be just North

Of perfect.

You told me if you met one

Met your Prince Charming

You’d say yes

On the spot.

Get to the happily ever after

As soon as possible.

But I’ve been duped too many times.

I’ve been tricked by mirrors

And even still water

To ever trust so quick

If some prince

Crown and all

Asked me for my hand

I would shake my head and back away.

I want love.

I want the fairytale

But I’ve been fooled too many times.
