What's going on here?
Well Amanda and Emily both have goals to write more. Amanda wants to write a poem and a half a day for the next year, while Emily wants to write for National Write a Novel Month (NaNoWriMo), which is usually in November, but she is going to do it from now until her mission on May 18th. Here is were you can follow us in our goals! Leave comments, encouragement, and what ever else you feel like.

Heavy Sun, Heavy Heart

Its easy to be lonely when it’s cold.
Those are the times its okay to be lonely.
You curl up with a book, some hot chocolate and you read till your eyelids droop.
The winter months are the easy ones.
It’s summers like this that are hard.
When you can taste the sunshine on every drop of fresh sprinkler water
When you can hear the laughter of the children as they slap their bare feet against the concrete.
When you close your eyes and just for a moment you can feel the wind in your hair as you ride the Ferris wheel at the summer carnival.
But you open your eyes.
And it’s hot and its sticky
And there is no one laughing with you, no one smiling with you
And you feel more alone than ever.
No, the winter months are when it’s easy to be alone.
I’m counted down the days till first snow
Because I’m sick of this summer heat
And sick of this summer sadness.
