I opened my mouth and it all came falling out.

All the pain and hurt

All the cuts and tears

And you.

You just listened.

You shared my pain.

And listened as I tried to explain.

Explain what it meant to be me.

What the words my mother said meant.

What it felt to be such a child still

And you listened.

You really listened
