I’m torn between two places
One foot in the high desert.
The other in the forest.
My heart stretches across the thousands of miles that separate the two.
And I swear as this metal bird flies through the sky
I can feel my heart growing thinner.
I want desperately to be in a familiar place
Surrounded by those loving faces.
But I also want to be there.
There with these new friends
This brand new family.
But I’ve got no choice and I’m halfway home.
And the miles are growing wider
And my heart is growing thinner.
But no matter where I go
A piece o my heart will always be
In the high humid hills with them.
