Something More than Friday

I’m smart.

I’m not shy about it.

I can construct a descent sentence.

I can ramble off some science

But I’m not smart.

I don’t grapple with the big subjects on a daily basis.

I am not a genius.

No extremely talented virtuoso

I am an average smart

B’s without much effort smart.

But I want to be Smart.

My whole life I’ve been surrounded by the Smart

By the people I paled in comparison.

 I thought something was wrong

Some mental handicap no one had the heart to tell me about.

But now I know I’m smart just not Smart.

I will have to work for every great achievement.

Struggle and strive to be something more than this basic level smart

I just pray I have the strength to be something more than average.
