They say guys will be guys.
I can't expect too much out of you.
You're a slave to being "a guy".
But I know you're better than that.
I can see the man inside you.
The man who someday you will grow into.
But for now you're just a guy.
A good guy for the most part.
But when you slip,
When you do something I could criticize
I get sad.
Sad that you don't realize what you could be.
Who you could be.
I believe in you.
In you becoming a real man.
Stop depending on the beard
To separate the boy from the man.
Grow up.
