Beds are a lonely place for me.
My arms and legs
And toes and fingers all stretch out
Searching for someone
Someone to fight off what’s in the dark
Someone to help heal my heart
Someone
But they never find anyone
I awake in the bonds of bed sheets
Hair askew
Body drenched in a dew of fruitless searching.
